Terrance

I am proud to know Terrance.  He works hard and laughs loud. He also has what is referred to as a “service heart” .  Many who work in hospitality do.  It’s why we do this kind of work.  We strive to provide comfort to those who need.

It’s a fact that volunteer work keeps a body healthy.  I’m not sure  of the science behind it .  I’m confident that the MOTIVATION  behind it is driven by the fact we all need purposes in our lives.
Terrance has started a group called Bless The Homeless.  They will be meeting here in our conference room on November 12th.  If you would like to join , meet me here at the front desk, bring in a scarf, a blanket, anything that might help a friend we have yet to meet in need.  I will walk you in and introduce you to the young man we are all so proud to know….yes…I  mean Terrance. (Lol)

Very sincerely and respectfully signing off as,

Kari

GM needed for Brookpointe Inn

10/28/2017 7:41:04 PM As of November 1st, I will be stepping away from the management position.  This has been the hardest job I have ever had , this has also been the work choice that I have loved the most.  I know it confuses me too.lol.  I think being a GM for a hotel is more like a life style than it is a career. I hope that the next GM falls in love with this contrary property as much as I have.

Celebrate Syracuse!

I give a lot of tours of this unique property I work from.  We are locate on 30 acres of wooded property . There are trails winding around and through out.  We have a zip line experience for all sizes of kids, an outdoor gaming area  called family cove .We are in a town well known for its lakes, and Brookpointe is only a half a mile from the highway that takes you straight through Syracuse.  You may say I am showing favoritism?  you would be right.  I always end the tour by stating this fact.  This hotel never stands still.  We are always looking for new projects and ways to grow.  Every year about this time, we host our Fall Festival.  It’s a time for us to showcase our newest projects.

save this date:  October 21st

show up through this time frame: 11:00 a.m.through 7:00p.m.

What to expect?  This year the newest activity is B.I.N.G.O.  with prizes.  Expect food vendors and local artists and companies promoting their services.

There will be a car show, and games, and bouncy houses, and face painting, and seeing neighbors you haven’t got to see because life gets so busy for all of us.

Let’s celebrate.

I don’t have a snappy blog title for the following update :(

8/6/2017 10:38:44 AM   I HATE HATE HATE being the guy that has to update all regarding pool maintenance.  I need you all to know though,  the pool boiler needs serviced.  The error message stated  roll out switch is opened.  I have the service request in —I really don’t anticipate any one coming out today .  We here at the desk will keep the pool open, it will not be at the 89 degrees we all find so enjoyable and relaxing, right now it sits at about 83 degrees.  I am sorry for the inconvenience.

First…. The good news

7/23/2017 11:10:32 AM   We all are familiar with the phrase ”  I have good news and I have bad news”  I like the good news first, it sets the mood.  So … ok… here is the good news..

1,  You all look great today.

2. It is another beautiful day outside.

3. We had a great weekend here at the resort property.  It is beautiful and the guests enjoyed the fire pit and the walking trails and spending time together.  I love to see that and I am so proud to be a part of it all.

Now the bad news.  The boiler that heats the pool water is not working properly.  I believe I was told once by Randy that the pool will get cooler a degree or so an hour. It is now at 83 degrees.  It IS swimmable and will stay opened , it’s just not as warm as normal.  I have been given no target time as to when this will be repaired.

Now that wasn’t so bad to hear was it?

As always, please call our desk for any additional information.  W are here for you 24/7

A pool update for this day 2017

7/11/2017 1:46:49 PM   Your update for the maintenance work being done on our fabulous…. heated …. indoor….saltwater pool …
The good news?- it is still a fabulous….indoor… saltwater pool.

The bad news?– the heater has not been fully installed at this time.

The good news?- the parts are all here on the property and the kings of maintenance are dedicated to getting it installed on this day.

The bad news?–It has not been completed at the time I am writing this.

We have cancelled the water aerobics class for tonight but I feel the pool will be up and running by the end of the maintenance team’s day .   As always please freely call our front desk for any additional information.

7 days with out swimming makes one “weak”

7/10/2017 3:12:35 PM  This is to let the world wide know the pool here at BPI is shut down –not 1 week— but for one day.  The part needed to run that show has been ordered and will be arriving tomorrow.  Please note: the scheduled water class is still on at this time because, quite honestly Sarah ( the water instructor ) and myself  are optimistic by nature. 🙂  We will be in contact with her through out the Tuesday and if need be we will reschedule that class by 4:00 pm tomorrow.

To all the guests that checked out on June 25th 2017

6/25/2017 11:13:47 AM   I just want it to be recorded how great our guests were this past weekend.  The hotel was filled with families from all over.  Some are recurring guests we have seen each summer for the past few years.  Others are newly found friends that we hope to meet again.  Take care everyone.  Thank you all for filling our hotel with your love and your laughter.
